Transmar
SCAC: TMCU
Egyptian regional container line, majority-owned by AD Ports Group, serving the Red Sea and Arabian Gulf.
Transmar traces its roots to 1979, when it began in Alexandria as International Associated Cargo Carrier (IACC), a stevedoring firm. It moved into marine operations early, running the first private terminal at Adabiya in 1986 and launching the Red Sea region's first multipurpose liner service in 1988. The switch to a pure container model came in 2007, and in 2016 IACC Shipping and Transmar Shipping merged under the single Transmar brand.

About Transmar
Transmar traces its roots to 1979, when it began in Alexandria as International Associated Cargo Carrier (IACC), a stevedoring firm. It moved into marine operations early, running the first private terminal at Adabiya in 1986 and launching the Red Sea region's first multipurpose liner service in 1988. The switch to a pure container model came in 2007, and in 2016 IACC Shipping and Transmar Shipping merged under the single Transmar brand.
The carrier concentrates on regional trades rather than deep-sea mainline routes, connecting ports across the Red Sea, the Arabian Gulf, and the East African coast. Egypt remains its operational anchor, with a dedicated terminal at Adabiya near Suez feeding cargo between local ports and larger transshipment hubs. Between 2021 and 2023 it pushed into Pakistan, India, Yemen, Sudan, Kuwait, and Iraq, widening its intra-regional network.
In September 2022, Abu Dhabi's AD Ports Group acquired a 70 percent stake in Transmar alongside sister company Transcargo International, a deal valued at roughly USD 140 million and AD Ports' first international acquisition. Transmar carried about 109,000 TEU in 2021 and describes itself as holding the largest dedicated container capacity in the Red Sea.
Transmar container tracking FAQ
Who owns Transmar?
AD Ports Group of Abu Dhabi holds a 70 percent majority stake in Transmar, acquired in September 2022 together with the terminal operator Transcargo International in a deal worth about USD 140 million. It was AD Ports Group's first international acquisition.
Where is Transmar based and what routes does it run?
Transmar is an Egyptian carrier with its home terminal at Adabiya, near the Gulf of Suez. It focuses on regional container trades across the Red Sea, the Arabian Gulf, and the East African coast, and has expanded into markets including Pakistan, India, Yemen, Sudan, Kuwait, and Iraq.
What does the SCAC code TMCU identify?
TMCU is the Standard Carrier Alpha Code assigned to Transmar. It appears on bills of lading and in tracking systems to identify the carrier responsible for the shipment, and it is also the prefix used on many of Transmar's containers.
How do I track a Transmar shipment?
Enter your Transmar container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), or booking number into Panvaya's tracker. You'll get the live vessel route, milestone events, and a predictive ETA in real time, with no Transmar account or login needed for a quick lookup.
What is Transmar's SCAC code?
Transmar's SCAC code is TMCU. It identifies Transmar on bills of lading and shipping documents. On Panvaya you don't need to enter it. Just paste your container, BOL, or booking number and we detect the carrier automatically.
Can I track Transmar containers by Bill of Lading or booking number?
Yes. Panvaya supports Transmar tracking by container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), and booking reference (BK). Any of the three returns the same real-time route, port calls, and ETA.
Is Transmar container tracking free on Panvaya?
Yes, you can track Transmar shipments for free, with no login for a quick lookup. Sign in to unlock the full journey: detailed milestones, predictive ETAs, transhipment legs, and exception alerts.
Why isn't my Transmar container updating?
Transmar tracking reflects what the carrier and vessel feeds have reported, so there is often a lag between a real-world move and the update. Panvaya refreshes on a regular cycle; a shipment that looks stuck usually just means the next milestone (such as vessel departure or discharge) hasn't been filed yet.
How accurate is the ETA for Transmar shipments?
Panvaya combines Transmar's schedule with live vessel position and historical performance to predict arrival, and refines the ETA as the journey progresses and conditions change. It is a continuously updated estimate, not a guarantee.
