What is a SCAC code?
A SCAC (Standard Carrier Alpha Code) is a unique two to four letter code that identifies an ocean carrier or transport company. Panvaya uses it to detect the right shipping line automatically when you track a container.
Which ocean carriers does Panvaya support?
Panvaya tracks containers across supported ocean carriers, including Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE, Evergreen and COSCO. The directory includes additional reference profiles; a listing does not guarantee tracking support. Check availability on the carrier page.
What is an NVOCC?
A Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier issues its own bills of lading and consolidates cargo, but does not operate the vessels itself. Many NVOCCs are included in this directory alongside vessel-operating lines.
How do I track a container with a specific carrier?
Open the carrier profile and enter a container number to check tracking availability. Returned status, dates and milestones depend on carrier support and source data. Sign in for supported bill of lading and booking searches.

What is the difference between a carrier SCAC and a vessel IMO number?
A SCAC identifies the carrier or shipping line as a company, while an IMO number is a permanent seven-digit identifier assigned to an individual vessel for its entire life. You track a shipment by carrier (SCAC) plus a container or bill of lading number, whereas the IMO number identifies the specific ship carrying it.
How do I find a shipping line's SCAC code?
Search this directory by carrier name to see its SCAC code. A container's equipment-owner prefix is a separate identifier and may belong to a leasing company rather than the operating carrier. Panvaya attempts carrier discovery when you track a supported reference.
