Today Yang Ming runs close to 100 container ships totaling somewhere north of 700,000 TEU, which puts it around 9th or 10th among the world's carriers by capacity and second in Taiwan behind Evergreen. Its backbone on the Transpacific and Asia-Europe trades is the 14,000-TEU W-class series delivered between 2015 and 2019. The company also carries heavy volumes on intra-Asia routes and reaches the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Australia.
The carrier joined the Premier Alliance in February 2025, teaming with Ocean Network Express and HMM after the former THE Alliance dissolved when Hapag-Lloyd left. Yang Ming has laid out plans to grow its fleet and capacity substantially through the end of the decade, with newbuild orders spanning ships from roughly 8,000 to 15,000 TEU to renew and expand the fleet.
