The company has spent the past decade reshaping itself from a pure ocean carrier into an integrated logistics provider, adding air freight, warehousing, inland transport, and customs brokerage alongside its container business. In February 2025 Maersk left the 2M partnership with MSC and launched Gemini Cooperation with Hapag-Lloyd, built around a hub-and-spoke model aimed at high schedule reliability. Maersk contributes about 60 percent of the pool. At the venture's one-year mark, Gemini reported schedule reliability near 90 percent, with Asia to North Europe and Transatlantic lanes running above 95 percent.
