Heung-A Shipping
SCAC: 11QU
Korea's first container line (1961), now Sinokor-owned, running intra-Asia liner services under the Heung-A brand.
Heung-A is one of the oldest names in Korean shipping. It launched the country's first regular container service in 1961 on the Korea-Japan route, then extended into Southeast Asia through the 1970s and 1980s and into China's coastal ports in the following decade. Alongside its box business, the company built a sizable parcel chemical tanker fleet, and for years it described itself as a leading chemical carrier in Asia.

About Heung-A Shipping
Heung-A is one of the oldest names in Korean shipping. It launched the country's first regular container service in 1961 on the Korea-Japan route, then extended into Southeast Asia through the 1970s and 1980s and into China's coastal ports in the following decade. Alongside its box business, the company built a sizable parcel chemical tanker fleet, and for years it described itself as a leading chemical carrier in Asia.
The container side went through heavy restructuring after Hanjin's 2016 collapse pushed Korea to consolidate its carriers. In December 2019, Heung-A's financially stressed container liner operations were acquired by domestic rival Sinokor Merchant Marine, with the two companies combining routes and offices in phases through 2020. The business kept the Heung-A name for branding, so shippers still book under Heung-A LINE while Sinokor sits behind it as owner.
Today Heung-A concentrates on short-sea and feeder trades linking Korea, Japan, China, and Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia, with connections toward the Indian Subcontinent. It cooperates with Sinokor and HMM on intra-Asia strings under arrangements including the K-Alliance and HMM+K2 consortium. At its peak the group moved well over a million TEU a year across these lanes.
Heung-A Shipping container tracking FAQ
Did Heung-A Shipping merge with KMTC?
No. That is a common mix-up. Heung-A's container liner operations were acquired by Sinokor Merchant Marine in December 2019, and the two combined their intra-Asia services through 2020. KMTC (Korea Marine Transport) is a separate South Korean carrier.
Who owns Heung-A Line now?
Sinokor Merchant Marine owns the container liner business, which it purchased from the financially troubled Heung-A Shipping in late 2019. The service kept the Heung-A brand for continuity with shippers.
What does SCAC code 11QU identify?
11QU is the Standard Carrier Alpha Code used to identify Heung-A Shipping on bills of lading and in EDI shipment data, so systems can route Heung-A container bookings correctly.
How do I track a Heung-A Shipping shipment?
Enter your Heung-A Shipping container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), or booking number into Panvaya's tracker. You'll get the live vessel route, milestone events, and a predictive ETA in real time, with no Heung-A Shipping account or login needed for a quick lookup.
What is Heung-A Shipping's SCAC code?
Heung-A Shipping's SCAC code is 11QU. It identifies Heung-A Shipping on bills of lading and shipping documents. On Panvaya you don't need to enter it. Just paste your container, BOL, or booking number and we detect the carrier automatically.
Can I track Heung-A Shipping containers by Bill of Lading or booking number?
Yes. Panvaya supports Heung-A Shipping tracking by container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), and booking reference (BK). Any of the three returns the same real-time route, port calls, and ETA.
Is Heung-A Shipping container tracking free on Panvaya?
Yes, you can track Heung-A Shipping shipments for free, with no login for a quick lookup. Sign in to unlock the full journey: detailed milestones, predictive ETAs, transhipment legs, and exception alerts.
Why isn't my Heung-A Shipping container updating?
Heung-A Shipping tracking reflects what the carrier and vessel feeds have reported, so there is often a lag between a real-world move and the update. Panvaya refreshes on a regular cycle; a shipment that looks stuck usually just means the next milestone (such as vessel departure or discharge) hasn't been filed yet.
How accurate is the ETA for Heung-A Shipping shipments?
Panvaya combines Heung-A Shipping's schedule with live vessel position and historical performance to predict arrival, and refines the ETA as the journey progresses and conditions change. It is a continuously updated estimate, not a guarantee.
