Tailwind Shipping Lines
SCAC: TSHG
Lidl-owned niche carrier moving Schwarz Group retail cargo between Asia and Europe since 2022.
Tailwind Shipping Lines is the in-house ocean carrier of Germany's Schwarz Group, the retail conglomerate behind Lidl and Kaufland and controlled by billionaire Dieter Schwarz. The shipping arm was set up in July 2022 as a subsidiary of Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, a direct response to the container shortages and freight-rate spikes of the pandemic years. Rather than keep paying whatever the spot market demanded, Lidl decided to move its own boxes, starting with the vessel Wiking in mid-2022.

About Tailwind Shipping Lines
Tailwind Shipping Lines is the in-house ocean carrier of Germany's Schwarz Group, the retail conglomerate behind Lidl and Kaufland and controlled by billionaire Dieter Schwarz. The shipping arm was set up in July 2022 as a subsidiary of Lidl Stiftung & Co. KG, a direct response to the container shortages and freight-rate spikes of the pandemic years. Rather than keep paying whatever the spot market demanded, Lidl decided to move its own boxes, starting with the vessel Wiking in mid-2022.
The original mandate was narrow: carry Lidl's non-food merchandise from Asian sourcing markets to European distribution centers. That scope has widened. Tailwind now runs scheduled liner services and sells spare slot capacity to outside shippers and forwarders. Its network centers on three loops, the Panda Express connecting China with the Mediterranean, the Tiger Express covering intra-Asian legs across Bangladesh, Malaysia, Vietnam and Sri Lanka, and the Dolphin Express, a short-sea feeder between Barcelona and Moerdijk in the Netherlands.
From a single ship, the fleet has grown to roughly nine to ten vessels ranging from small feeders near 900 TEU up to boxships above 5,000 TEU, and the company has ordered five newbuilds in China. Counting those, planned capacity approaches 80,000 TEU, enough to edge Tailwind toward the fringes of the world's larger container operators despite its retail-logistics origins.

How do I track a Tailwind Shipping Lines shipment?
Enter your Tailwind Shipping Lines container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), or booking number into Panvaya's tracker. You'll get the live vessel route, milestone events, and a predictive ETA in real time, with no Tailwind Shipping Lines account or login needed for a quick lookup.
What is Tailwind Shipping Lines's SCAC code?
Tailwind Shipping Lines's SCAC code is TSHG. It identifies Tailwind Shipping Lines on bills of lading and shipping documents. On Panvaya you don't need to enter it. Just paste your container, BOL, or booking number and we detect the carrier automatically.
Can I track Tailwind Shipping Lines containers by Bill of Lading or booking number?
Yes. Panvaya supports Tailwind Shipping Lines tracking by container number, Bill of Lading (BOL), and booking reference (BK). Any of the three returns the same real-time route, port calls, and ETA.

Why isn't my Tailwind Shipping Lines container updating?
Tailwind Shipping Lines tracking reflects what the carrier and vessel feeds have reported, so there is often a lag between a real-world move and the update. Panvaya refreshes on a regular cycle; a shipment that looks stuck usually just means the next milestone (such as vessel departure or discharge) hasn't been filed yet.
How accurate is the ETA for Tailwind Shipping Lines shipments?
Panvaya combines Tailwind Shipping Lines's schedule with live vessel position and historical performance to predict arrival, and refines the ETA as the journey progresses and conditions change. It is a continuously updated estimate, not a guarantee.
