DHL Aviation Air Cargo Profile

The IATA code D0 and ICAO code DHK identify DHL Air UK, a wholly owned all-cargo airline within the DHL Aviation division of Deutsche Post DHL Group. It was registered in 1982 as Elan Air Freight and began flying in April 1983, later becoming the group's dedicated UK express carrier. Registered in Hounslow near London, its operational base and main sorting hub is East Midlands Airport (EMA). The airline uses the radio callsign WORLD EXPRESS and operates exclusively main-deck freighters, carrying documents, parcels and general air cargo on scheduled and ad hoc services across the DHL Express network.

DHL Aviation, established in 1969 and headquartered in Bonn, Germany, is the broader air-transport arm of DHL Express and is not a single airline but a group of carriers including DHL Air UK, European Air Transport Leipzig, DHL Air Austria, DHL International Aviation ME in Bahrain, DHL Aero Expreso in Panama and Blue Dart Aviation in India. The wider DHL Aviation network is organised around global superhubs at Leipzig/Halle (LEJ) in Europe, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky (CVG) in the Americas and Hong Kong (HKG) in Asia, with additional gateways at Brussels (BRU), East Midlands (EMA) and Bahrain (BAH). All capacity is dedicated freighter lift, so the airline offers no passenger belly capacity.
