ANA Air Cargo Profile

ANA Cargo is the air freight division of All Nippon Airways (IATA NH, ICAO ANA), the largest airline in Japan by fleet size and revenue. Its parent, ANA Holdings Inc., traces the airline back to 1952, when it was founded as Japan Helicopter and Aeroplane Transport before being renamed All Nippon Airways in 1957. Headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, the airline joined Star Alliance in 1999. ANA Cargo moves freight both in the belly holds of the passenger fleet and on dedicated freighter aircraft flown across Japan, the rest of Asia, North America, and Europe.

The dedicated ANA Cargo freighter fleet is built around Boeing widebodies: six Boeing 767-300 freighters, including converted 767-300BCF airframes, and two Boeing 777F, which entered service in 2019 and carry roughly 100 tonnes each, about double a 767F. In August 2025 ANA Holdings completed its acquisition of Nippon Cargo Airlines, Japan's largest all-cargo carrier, adding eight Boeing 747-8F to the group. ANA has also ordered two Boeing 777-8F freighters, with deliveries expected from 2028, positioning the group as Japan's leading combination carrier.

ANA Cargo's principal freighter base is Tokyo Narita (NRT), complemented by an overnight cargo hub at Naha Airport (OKA) in Okinawa. The Okinawa hub receives inbound freighters from Japan, China, and Southeast Asia in the small hours and dispatches return flights before dawn, linking cities such as Seoul, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, and Taipei with domestic points near Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya. The network spans intra-Asia lanes, transpacific routes to the United States, and services to Europe, with belly capacity extending reach across ANA's global passenger schedule.
