Malaysia Airlines Air Cargo Profile

MASkargo is the freight and mail division of Malaysia Airlines, the flag carrier of Malaysia. Malaysia Airlines traces its origins to 1972, when Malaysian Airline System was formed after the breakup of Malaysia-Singapore Airlines, and MASkargo was later established as the group's dedicated cargo arm. The airline uses IATA code MH and ICAO code MAS, with cargo flights operating under the callsign Malaysian Cargo. It is part of Malaysia Aviation Group and has been a member of the oneworld alliance since 2013, giving its cargo network interline reach across partner carriers.

The MASkargo freighter fleet consists of three Airbus A330-200F aircraft, each offering roughly 61 to 65 tonnes of payload. These main-deck freighters replaced the airline's earlier Boeing 747-200F and 747-400F jumbo freighters, which were retired by 2016. Beyond dedicated freighters, MASkargo carries a large share of its volume in the belly holds of Malaysia Airlines and Firefly passenger aircraft, including the Airbus A350-900, A330 family and Boeing 737s. Malaysia Aviation Group has signalled it is not currently pursuing new dedicated freighters, instead leaning on belly capacity and capacity-sharing partnerships.

MASkargo is headquartered in Sepang, Selangor, and operates from the Advanced Cargo Centre at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, a facility with capacity of around one million tonnes of cargo per year. Its scheduled freighter and belly network spans Asia-Pacific, Europe and Australasia, complemented by strategic cargo partnerships with Qatar Airways Cargo and IAG Cargo. Specialised handling covers perishables through a temperature-controlled cool-chain centre, live animals via a dedicated Animal Hotel, pharmaceuticals, and secure storage for electronics and semiconductors under its i-secure service, alongside sea-to-air transfers through Port Klang.
